| Neighbourhood Action Panels (NAP's) The Neighbourhood Action Panel is a bimonthly meeting held within a neighbourhood. Its purpose is to assess issues raised by the local community, agree community priorities and decide upon a realistic and achievable course of action to address them. A NAP consists of people who live or work in the neighbourhood or those who provide a service to the local community. Althorne forms part of the neighbourhood called the 'Purleigh NAP' Although it is called the 'Purleigh NAP' it actually encompasses the following parishes: Purleigh, Althorne, Wickham Bishops & Woodham, Woodham Walter, Langford, Ulting, Hazeleigh, Cock Clarks, Rudley Green, Great Canney, Stow Maries, North Fambridge, Latchingdon, Maylandsea, Mundon, Cold Norton Neighbourhood Action Panel meetings are held mainly in village halls and are held bimonthly in rotation at the various parishes that form the NAP.
