Althorne Parish CouncillorsCouncillors have an active interest and concern for the local community. They represent local people and work in partnership with them and others when necessary. They help facilitate the provision of local services and take decisions that form the policy of the Council. The Althorne Parish
Council is also the trustee of the Althorne Parish Hall Charity Trust and, therefore,
councillors assume the role of a trustee upon taking office. However, the
affairs of the charity and it's finances are kept completely separate from the
Parish Council affairs. Trustee meetings are also separate from Parish Council
Meetings. The affairs of the trust are overseen by the Charity Commission.

Tel: 01621 744386 email: althornecouncil@btinternet.com Meetings are held in the Parish Hall, Summerhill on the 4th Wednesday each month at 7.30pm, unless otherwise notified The Parish Council Office is situated in the Parish Hall. The clerk is contracted to work twelve hours per week. In order to give greater access to the public, the clerk is contracted to work two hours per week in the office on Tuesdays between the hours of 12.30 and 2.30pm. The remaining ten hours are flexible around the needs of her young family. If members of the public wish to meet with the clerk on Tuesdays or any other time when she is in the office, they are advised to phone or e-mail to make and appointment.
