Althorne Village NewsThe Althorne Village News, or, the AVN as it is affectionately known in the village, is a monthly village newsletter that is delivered to every household in the village. Most are delivered by hand by a group of dedicated volunteers who have been delivering them for quite a number of years. Houses in the more remote parts of the village get theirs in the post. The news letter is mostly funded by adverts, with an occasional top up of funds from the council when needed. Several organisations and clubs provide a regular input, including:- The Parish Council. St. Andrew's Church. Over 60's Club. Travel News - by the transport representative for the village. After Eight Social Club.
