Althorne Youth ShelterAlthorne Youth Shelter Grand Opening21st March 2009 The official opening of the Youth Shelter took place at the Althorne Recreation Ground at 1.00pm on Saturday 21st March.
The opening ceremony was conducted by Essex County Councillor (and MDC Councillor) Bob Boyce representing the Essex County Council Mid Essex Forum, who funded the project. Also present were: Representatives of Maldon District Council Cllr Mrs Sheila M Young - Chairman of the Council. Cllr Tony Cussen - District Councillor. Julia Mackenzie - Community Safety Partnership. Steve Krolzig - Parks and Open Spaces Team, who did the final installation and fitting out.
Essex Police Ray Stanard - Essex Police - Community Safety Partnership.
Essex County Council John Symonds - Mid area Co-ordinator.
