Footpaths

The parish of Althorne has twelve official Public Rights of Way within it's boundary.

The council has two councillors who are the parishes P3 representatives (Parish Paths Partnership), There is a also a member of the public who, together with the P3 representatives, oversee the footpaths and regularly walk them. The P3 representatives organise occasional footpath walks which anyone can join. Look on our news pages to find out about any planned walks.

Any concerns or maintenance issues are reported to Essex County Council, who have the overall responsibility for footpaths.

It is important that footpaths are regularly walked in order to keep them open.

The Maldon & Dengie Ramblers Group organise walks in the Dengie which, on occasions, include some of the footpaths in Althorne.

The Essex County Council definitive list  of all the official footpaths is shown below together with an Ordinance Survey map with the numbered footpaths highlighted.
